It is the toughest date in the Dahlonega $5 run and a coin that may have been struck by the Confederacy. I am tapped out, so someone else should have at it.

Boy, there's a bunch of zeros in that minimum bid! image
    When in doubt, don't.

This is the crack out artist that returned 13,000 inserts to PCGS and donated the money, as I recall. Wonder how many times this coin was cracked out and resubmitted?

I think my wife would kill me (or worse) if I told her that I had taken another job in Seattle.

I do not know the ownership chain of this coin, but I expect that it is among the top 5 known of a desirable and scarce date (fewer than 100 in all grades). In the 2004 FUN sale, a nice MS-61 sold for $43,700 and the really nice Green Pond MS-62 sold for $75,000. $150,000 seems a bit optimistic; this coin has been in inventory for quite some time.

Every coin I've ever seen in their inventory looks optimistic. Looks more like Rare Coin Retailers. image
