what is this mint please
i found this 1891? seated dime metal detecting and i can't tell what the mint is . i have a 1891s and it is not that . i looked in the books and all i find is a 1891 o/o or s/s but i can't find a pic any were to see what thay look like. i did see that in 1890 there was a small s but not in 1891 . in one of the pix it looks like a small s . but with the loop it dose not . it is realy bothering me as to what it is . there are no scratches on the mint . so i don't think that is it . i allso found a 1814 capped bust dime in the same place. any idea as to what it is or a pic of a o/o or s/s .

The '91-S has two different mint mark sizes. Gerry Fortin's reference web-book -- which has become the de facto standard for Seated Dime varieties -- indicates that the '91-S has a "small S" and a "medium S" variety. The San Francisco Mint used two different mint mark punches with different sizes in 1891.
In your second picture, the one on the left is a "medium S" and the one on the right is a "small S."
