An eBay find I like.

I received this in the mail today. It rained here all day on Sunday, so I spent the day buying two quarters.

Check out the label.

  • Wow ! Just on face value alone (label) you doubled your money. Congrats !!!

  • PCGS has a 1952-D 25¢ at $40.00. I know ANACS falls a little short in some people’s estimation. I bought the coin for $20.47 and I did it because of the label; which wasn’t mentioned in the auction.

I'd rather have the 52-D frankie in MS-65image

I picked up an ANACS slab with a half dime in it the other day. Label says it was a dime. Funny.

    Here it is...

  • I had an ANACS slab a few years ago that listed the wrong date. They made it right for no charge.

Well, yeah, reputable TPGs will make mechanical errors right for no charge at the customer's request. They just aren't eligible for most guarantees.

Really … If I sold the thing, ANACS would not stand behind their MS-65 decision?

Advertise it as an error slab when you sell it and you might get a nice premium. I've seen it happen before.
  • I’ve seen that too, Cladiator. I don’t want to sell it. I like it even though I bought it for the plastic. I only spend a little over 20 bucks for it.

My current project is to collect all the Washington silver quarters 1932 – 1964 in ANACS MS-65. I will probably get another 1952-D for the collection. They are easy to come by.
