My girlfriend asked me to give her an SBA

She's been taking a class about great women speakers and Susan figures heavily in the course. She told me today that she would like to have "a nice SBA" (yes, she knows the lingo), so I obliged. My girlfriend is now officially a collector. My evil plan is coming to fruition.

Your football team is the World Champions, your girlfriend a coin collector - can it get any better?

SBA's can be considered semi OK on some rainy days.

I guess that a SBA is better then a SBD.

Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies.
  • Life is pretty good. I claim that this SBA officially makes her a collector because she now has a coin of her own. She's already showed interest beyond this. I have a darkside collection of 1979 dated (birth year) silver coins that she spends more time (and money) on than I do. She says that she can't see herself buying coins for her own collection, the implication of which is that she will gladly accept coins that I buy for her.

She tolerates my die hard devotion to the Steelers (and even cooks the gameday dinner most times), but makes herself scarce come kick off. All things considered, I'm one lucky schmuck.

Ellewood, I dig your 1979 T2 SBA. I need that coin, the T2 Kennedy and cent to finnish my PCGS PR69DCAM 1979 proof set with varieties. I've become fixated on "making" the coins myself though, so it could take a while.

To think, smoe girls ask for a ring...

  • She's not a coin collector yet. Let me explain....

Take professional football. A player may catch the ball, but if he fails to make another "football move" it isn't a fumble if he loses it and therefore was never considered a completed pass.

She has to make a "numismatic move" on her own. I'm not sure that simply asking for one counts...but I may be dead wrong and totally out of line. If she collects smoething without you then you'll know you have a keeper. Good luck, man and congrats on them Steelers.

P.S. the Bus ensured my victory in my fantasy pool in week 17. Three rushing TD's. So I was rooting for him bigtime in Superbowl XL.

    SBA's? Darkside moderns?

Actually I really do like the coin.

See if your girlfriend is interested in any others before you spring for an album. Unless you want proofs, the Dansco is only one page. You can just buy the page and put it in with another album.

I'm sure your girlfriend is a lovely lady, but do not be mistaken; there is no such thing as a nice SBA.

On the contrary, compared to the Sac that replaced it ALL SBA's are nice coins.
Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.
