Just think, there's a great-great-great-great-great grandchild out there somewhere just shaking his head and rolling his eyes over his great-great-great great-great grandfather's shananigans and tomfoolery.

I like this description on the 1950-1955 proof set

I GOT THESE SETS FROM THE U.S. MINT IN THE BOARD BOX OF ISSUE & 40 SOME YEARS AGO I PUT THEM INTO CUSTOM CAPITAL PLASTIC HOLDERS; DEEP FROSTY WHITE COINS, THE SCAN DOESN'T DO THIS SET JUSTICE

    The scan:

I wpould say the scan does the set justiceimage

"Never recieved this coin...contacted seller many times no satis result yet"

"Seller doesn't return calls or emails, attempted to pay but can't"

"17 Items have still not arrived after over 60 days. no response to last 2 email"

"After 22 days seller finds out he does not have the item he sold me."

"Ordered three coins in August, still waiting for coins in October."

I've been to Vern's house a few times to pick up a couple of things (no rip off but no real bargain either IMO) and does a broken down 70's vintage car with flats parked in the drive way, stained shag carpet, clutter everywhere, TV blasting, arthritic dacshund, dishelved appearance, and a light German accent seem to fit your mental image? Well...That's Vern. Seemed like a lonely old man to me.

As for his "business", he said he had the coins and his grandson ran the business on the internet. When ever I would make arrangement to come over and pick something up he would say, "You have to wait for my grandson to tak eme to the bank and get the items". I never saw the grandson and I see no metion of him on his "new" site.
