    KEEP THEM.

I still have my original sets from circa 1967.

They were back then just "hole fillers".

But today, they hark of a bygone era...when collecting was fun.

I would not trade them for the world...........

  • The accumulation is the value, in my opinion. Circ sets are the best way to have fun in this hobby, and while low grade coins will probably never bring substantial financial rewards, the feeling of accomplishment is priceless. Go get those 1909s vdbs and that 1916d Merc! It will be worth it in the end!

A penny saved is a penny earned. The sets you have completed are something that you as a family worked on. These are the perfect things to send down the generations for everyone to admire.

Keep them and continue them as well as start new ones.

If you like them keep them.

excellent suggestion, work those books until you have them complete and upgrade any non-par coins...I had 2 danscos complete of jefferys 38-2006, and both are way WAY above par, all BU with some killer toners, plus one book has many high grade varieties...I really like my jeffery danscos image

Did you enjoy building the sets? If the answer is yes, then it was worth it. If the answer is no, then you need to find another hobby.
  • Congrats on where you have all gotten your books so far and good luck going forward. I would agree with others that say to keep them. I got started collecting by filling the old blue Whitman folders as a kid. What started out as just Lincolns grew to include nickels, dimes, quarters, halves, and dollars. That now has grown to try and collect one coin of each denomination (non gold) for each year from 1900 to 1999. I’m within two dozen coins of completing that goal. It has taken me many years to get it to where I’m at, and I guessing it will take me many more to complete. I am often running across upgrades for each of the folders.

    Anyway Good luck.

BTW – Love your icon. image Looks much better in hand.. image
