I have no idea how to grade Roosies... (m)

Just looked through a few odds and ends from my late father's coin accumulation (at least the fairly "cheap stuff" he didn't unload when he was sick).

Didn't see too much worth pursuing more, but this '55 Roosie caught my eye. It's really flashier than this picture, but I suck at photography especially where toning is concerned. This one has a few cool die cracks on both sides as well. There are very few hits on the coin and the luster booms through the toning and the mostly untoned centers.

Not sure it's worth slabbing -- probably isn't unless it's at least a 66 or so. What say you Roosie specialists? [I know it's really hard to see imperfections through the toning. That's part of the problem in attempting to image and evaluate it.]

I don't think PCGS would FB that coin. I would send it to NGC. NGC 66FT and PCGS 66FB trade for about the
same price. IF NGC grades it 67FT you have a winner. Next batch I have going to NGC will be in a few weeks.
PM me if you would like me to include it in the submission.

Thanks to you and Lucy for the opinions. image

My gut feeling, though I really can't grade this series well, is that this coin is a 66 with a shot at 67 -- except that if the TPGs are being as tight as rumored lately, 67 may be too much to ask for. I don't think it's FT, but I could be wrong, as I don't really know the standard for that. All the lines do appear to be present but some are very weak in places.

Thanks for your offer. I'll keep it in mind. If someone has a submission coming sooner, that would be cool, too. There's no way I can round up enough of these worth grading to roll my own submission.
