Challenge for the bust half guys. What year is this coin?

JRoccoJRocco Posts: 14,277 ✭✭✭✭✭
Looking at this reverse, can this coin by ID'd? Look at those broken arrows? Can anyone tell by these pics what year this coin is or for the real cream of the crop, what variety is this? Let me just add-- I would have no clue without the coin in hand. So guess away.

Without looking it up, it appears to be a 29 105a, in a well documented die state. The reverse die was lapped, resulting in the loss of some detail. There is another die marriage that shows this effect.

NICE PICTURES... not sure of the date unless I check Overton and that would be cheating... I am going to just guess and say 1833

1831 O.113 ? I have one of these and recognized the weakness at the top of "50C," but I'm only 50% sure I'm right.

OK, confession time- I recognized the reverse die from my own collection, but couldn't remember which coin it was.... I first though it was an 1833 die... so I cheated big time and looked it up!

Hey rhedden, I never said it was a closed book test. image

I am really impressed. This is a good example when new people look at these boards and some of us welcome them and tell them there are some scary smart people here.image

Oh great, now I have to learn how to tell the difference between "wannabe" dealers and "weenie" dealers.
