Bought a coin 16 days ago...

and am still waiting to see where it is.

seller said he sent out on 2/2, item paid for 1/25

seller said he insured for 2 bills and has tracking number, but failed to provide that info.

seller has been asked for a tracking number, said he went to his new post office that they just put in his town, and that if I have not rcvd package by saturday(?) then THEY will track it.

seller was asked nicely at first for a tracking number, then demand was made for tracking number

seller has not responded to this request, but has SEEN the request.

seller is a BM

what would you do?

Communication has been kept private and will remain that way, unless I feel that I have been swindled.

I see no reason why a tracking number could not be provided. It sounds like something is being covered up. Beware.

If he shipped it on 2.2, delivery looks to be a little slow, but not yet in the worry zone. If it requires a signature, though, it's also possible a delivery attempt was made and the little slip wasn't left. Just in case, you might check with your local post office to see if it's there.

Ah sorry sailor, when this ship(me) is out to sea, the dock is still full (wife is a stay home wife), and the porter(mailman) delivers everything- no slips no missed packages- not at the front door - it goes to the back door.

seller said they have a sig confirm attached. If by chance they sent out 1st class- I would have had it already-considering I rcvd a pkg that was mailed 2/4 via 1st class delivery confirmed from CT. rcvd on 2/4/06.

7 dyas is long time- I spoke to the porter today-hmmmmm!

Normally, yes, but the post office isn't always that quick. I shipped one first class on 1.31 to a city 25 miles away and as of today my bidder still has not received it.

You can't rule out a slow post office.
Even if other stuff has come to you sent after that one.

I sent a payment to Keets.....took somewhere around 2 weeks. For an envelope with a check!!!
I also sent out stuff after my mail to Keets, and those were received before he got the check.

When he got the check, he saw the postmark stamp and MY post office stamped it the day I sent it....so, somewhere/sometime after that, it got way delayed.

It took a full month for me to receive a coin from a board member, and it was in the hands of the post office all that time, so I'm not surprised. But, there's no reason why he shouldn't send you the traking number.

I wouldn't worry yet. Not all people sit at their computer 24/7 waiting for email to come in and get a hard-on for 100% positive feedback. Chances are that he has a life outside the computer so doesn't put a big emphasis on answering emails. Not that I condone running an internet business and treating your customers that way. But he most likely lists items, sells items, ships items, assumes all is well, checks email intermittently and answers them when he has an answer and trusts that all will work itself out in the end.

Ah, how can I say this without being a total jerk.

If you, a BOARD MEMBER, are here trying to sell a coin to either help a friend or clean out over stock or for what ever reason, and want another member to be as upright as you were in presentation, then you are acting in bad faith as this situation has taken place.

Take into consideration that the person was paid on 1/25/06. That person did not MAIL out said item for 8 days, and I may have not even known when that person mailed it if I did not ASK, what is going on. I paid via PAY PAL, with extra $$ to cover the damn fee!- It was not required in the original transaction that was made.

I may have to back up here a second- Originally this item was paid via a M.O., and it WAS mailed to this person, he waited close to 3 weeks before contacting ME that he had not rcv'd payment, I went to my P.O> and raised hell with the P.O. aske dhim for a trace on a sig conf pkg(I always cover my butt)- he traces - not record of it getting to it's next arrival- he checks back of house for 3 days- I know this to be true because my regular guy and 2 of the PO associates were the ones looking- it went out, but the other end never got it, trace showed it making to a point in N.J., and that is where it ended.

So when I next discuss the matter with the Board Member- I ask for their email addy to send via PAYPAL, got that, paid for it instantly- They rcv'd the funds on the 22nd and accepted it on the 23rd- of Jan- THEY notified me on the 25th that they rcv'd $$ and item will be going out 'shortly'- HOW LONG IS SHORTLY?.

16 strike that remark, 17 days is BULL.

I will oblige the BM, his request to wait until Saturday- I will be having coffee with my 'porter' at 7:30- and I will know if I have a pkg or not, BECAUSE he sets his route up for the next day, the prior evening, which will be tonite! I will have my mail in hand, if any by 7:35 a.m., I will either apologize or out the BM no later than 3:30 p.m.- I have a few things to do for my loving bride this weekend, and am not going to be trying to rationalize my presence on a computer all day.

A life I have, short as it may be, I still have one.

I wouldn't panic yet; couple of years ago I had a missing package (ebay purchase). It showed up 22 days after the postmarked date. Sometimes you just have to be patient (but, then again, the lack of response to the request for the tracking number is a concern).

My intent was to allay your fears that you wouldn't get the coin. Your situation has happened to me as well. But I have never failed to get an item that was sent to me. Some have taken weeks longer than they should have. All eventually came in.

this was never a 'panic' moment nor oh woh is me the coin was lost in the mail, blah blah.

what it truly boils down to is a liar.

rcvd call from postal buddy at 1:30- hey got a package from New Jersey- sent on 2/8, afternoon punch!
Said he will drop off on the run in an hour. Excellent- I now have coin in hand, and package showing - not shipped until 2/8/06.

Other than a thief, the only person I dispise worse is a liar, and one who claims to be a 'friend' has 2 strikes against them- his 3rd- he is a BM.

If you want to know who it is so you can draw your own conclusion- PM me, I have told him that if he gets crappy with me- I will out him here on the boards in a nano second(or when I see what he tells me next)

whoever is the committee chairperson for the Inner Circle of Trust(tm)- PM me, I have a grievance to file.

If you sell, don't lie cheat or steal from a friend- it could make you look silly.

No excuse for lying. I quickly learned to use the phrase "will be shipped promptly" instead of within 48 hours after a guy had an absolute fit over 48 hours!

    From the seller's perspective...

you took 3 weeks to get payment to him

He got the coin to you quicker than that

he likely had to upgrade his paypal account to merchant (since you say he had to accept it)

will now pay a fee to Paypal on EVERY TRANSACTION... not just yours

no excuse for lying still... but normally there are two sides to a story and the truth is somewhere in between

A.- I did not take 3 weeks to get payment to him- just an FYI- the M.O., never made it to him.
B.- He did not get the coin 'quicker' to me- he lied about when he sent it period.
C.- He did not cry over paypal- I paid the damn fee to send him the correct amount- if anyone should
complain it should be me for having to do the added fee.
D.- apparently he had a paypal acct- so not a big deal, and
E.- HE FRIGGIN LIED- NO EXCEPTIONS- HE IS A BOARD MEMBER- and it should not be tolerated here when you sell it here on the boards.
    End of issue

He will not respond - because he knows he is wrong, and I am totally in the right on this one.
I have no time to screw with people- this I'm sure you can aska few of the trusted members of the Inner Circle thing- I pay and pay promptly. I had one problem a year ago- and the post office snakes caught the thieves - but everyone was made whole- and not complaints.

I won't tolerate a liar or a thief- I 'll bust their scrawny little neck myself just for exercise.

Let me know the way/day you ship- I like to watch and see if my mail actually gets to me timely- lately I have had BILLS arrive days after I paid them. Try to understand- you and I have no control after it leaves your hands coming to me.

I finally got a response from the post office- I can go down and get a refund on my MO- they consider it LOST, and now voided.

you think it's worth submitting to Anacs even with the scratches in it?

    Tom,

I won't try to explain what happened here last summer- the issues are still under a federal investigation.

in a nutshell, we had some fill in postal people doing the routes, and I was getting some hellacious orders filled- the folks I bought from were coin dealers with very visible labeling on the packages- well I had close to 17K total in Prof coins coming in just about every 3rd day, this went on for 2 weeks, then suddeny - nothing- zilch, I'm wondering where are my coins?? and I'm sending out $$ and coins at the same time- not via ebay either- well lo and behold- there was a little ring of thieves doing their thing- but on camera in the back room- unknown to me- I file my claims and bxtchxs- only to be told they will look into it.
Well long story short- they caught the fxxxcking crooks- I was almost out 46 grand from this crap- I thank God I had insurance on most of the stuff, the small crap was little- but they stole from me, and the postal inspectors nailed their ass.

I think it's starting all over again- but who do I blame- not you, not me- and unless I can prove it is happening again- it is another investigation. at my expense

Fxxx Texas, and the postal service.

How much do you want me to send?

I'll be on here for a couple of hours- if I don't see a response- I'll send you the 175 and change- and no apology is expected nor will I try to re invent the damn wheeel - again

    chat later.

One question, how does it take you...."a couple weeks" to get a money order to people when it takes most of the world three days tops...USA speaking.

well Tom- I never did get an answer from you when I ASKED if you could take PAYPAL.

Calling ME a butthead- won't get you anywhere- I sent the PM to you, and you did not respond, I have my claim in for the money order- that I should be able to get here in a couple of weeks.

Just to enlighten you a hair- I had 3 packages that were sent out the same time I mailed you the money order- they ALL got there LATE. They were due the week before Xmas. 1 package actually made it to my father in law- YESTERDAY, so can the mail system suck? You bet.

Now do you want to try it again? do you TAKE PAYPAL be echeck?- I'll even kick it up a notch for the damn fee's- that would come to a total of 175.23.
You let me know- I don't welsh on deals- and really would prefer being called an axxxhole - sounds better, and I am an ass, when I want to be.

I'll be back on the boards on Monday aft. - wife n I will be out all day Sunday

As the listing says its got some hairlines on the cheek and hair, but otherwise a nice circulated grey. I dont think anacs would have a problem slabbing it. PCGS may or may not, depends on what way the wind is blowing.

I would prefer it to be a final sale as my friend is waiting for cash for christmas and I wuold hate to give her the cash and then you not like the coin and me be in a hole for the cash and the postage back and forth.

I hope this image comes out...i added one to the listing in the buy sell trades where it was originally. hope this helps. tom

    My post from above

<< <i>No excuse for lying. I quickly learned to use the phrase "will be shipped promptly" instead of within 48 hours after a guy had an absolute fit over 48 hours!

    From the seller's perspective...
you took 3 weeks to get payment to him
He got the coin to you quicker than that
he likely had to upgrade his paypal account to merchant (since you say he had to accept it)
will now pay a fee to Paypal on EVERY TRANSACTION... not just yours
no excuse for lying still... but normally there are two sides to a story and the truth is somewhere in between [Q/]

    Your response from above

    << <i>
A.- I did not take 3 weeks to get payment to him- just an FYI- the M.O., never made it to him.

No assuming the PM history is true....

A.-You are right, you didn't take three weeks, you took more like 7 weeks![b/]
B.-He did get the coin quicker to you.
C.-He did not demand the fee. You proposed and paid it.
    D.-You don't understand. Re-read my post.
    E.-You FRIGGIN LIED

    He did respond!

You are far from totally in the right

    You pay promtly?

Also, you never asked for the tracking number.

You never demanded the tracking number.

You never supplied the number of your lost money order.

I guess you need to break your own scrawny neck.

Got it... that must have been after the PM stream ended since it ended with you saying you shipped it.

I am not lying, my cards are on the table. I have to admit....he asked for it and I didnt reply with it.........yet.

I figure six or seven weeks is fast enough to get him a tracking number. Maybe "momma" can track it for you if you get the number.

Shouldn't the thread title be "Bought a coin 68 days ago..."?

    Russ,

Thanks for counting....I honestly gave up on the dude.

I sent him a message saying lets be friends and not have a problem, but he just threatened me after the coin didnt arrive as slow as he sent payment.

you want a response- ok jerk.

Insured mail # VF 667 016 879 US- let some one from here pull the number up- it will show the date you sent it..

Tom you're a liar, and instead of posting the bullchit story and part of a PM- post the whole thing.

I sent you the money- and you did not get it- maybe that new post office slow arse gov't employee took it. You know the one that you said you mailed it from on 2/2!

I would be more than happy to show you what a 5'6 ex SEAL can do to a bag of chit like you- I would have no problem with it- I am not afraid of any man, woman or idiot savant.

oh that addy you gave- not your home I take it, does it belong to an uncle or maybe dad.

Get a better story Sachetti- or be honest.

I edited the date of 2/2 from 2/21- finger slip.

fact is you lied and can't back up your story.
