before frankie washed his dirty clinkers:

suffice it to say ms70 did clean it some, neutralized with acetone, but for some reason just doesnt look like it did the whole job- I did auto levels before saving, which caused the contrast to bring out that thin film of haze?

<< <i>Try a quick dip in diluted Jeweluster, followed by a rinse in Isopropyl Alcohol. >>

<< <i>What removed the milkspot the MS 70 or the acetone? I just got a original roll of 1958-s Franklins that have milkspots but otherwise are beautiful. >>
not sure what removed the spot, and I agree with segoja that real milk spots cannot be removed, or at least i have never had any luck in that arena, and wrecked quite a few proof coins trying
I soaked in ms70 for 2 mins, then rinsed with hot water, then right into straight acetone for 2 mins, then towl dry, I didnt blow dry cause only thing full of hot air around here is my mother in law
alot of milkspots are attributed to the ivory soap wash the planchets used to get before the coin was struck, or so I think (if one knows better please chime in) so my guess would be dryed soap stamped into device/and or fields of a coin impossible to remove

Now that's funny, I don't care who you are. I don't know how it fits into the conversation, but it's funny!
<< <i>if that's the 1956 Type One Cameo bombshell that i think it is, you'd better quit screwing around with it and send it to NCS. >>

<< <i>Pontiac, are you aware your slides say "Mary Kate and Ashley they some are foxy ladies"? >>
couple that with the aol poll below it, then you should get my point
Go BIG or GO HOME. ©Bill
No, not sure what the poll has to do with the sentence structure?
<< <i>Bill, overall, that coin looks pretty good.
its a type 1 as keets pointed out to me in another thread, I was kinda suprised. I found this stashed in my junk box richard, not sure where it came from, but an interesting learning experience was had--sooner or later its going to NCS for conservation and grading ...lucy pointed out that these type 1 have strong reverse cameos, which rev cameo on this rocks, not sure about the obv, but once the cooties are washed away or politically correct term "conserved away" then well see
either way a very cool coin

Has Cam seen it yet? If so, I'm sure there will be "milk" spots on some ICG coins soon.
