  This happens often.... check out EstateWholesalers and NGEGOLD, and COINMAVEN websites... all three regularly sell the same coin. Who actually owns the coin varies. The other dealers who list it generally ask a small to moderate "premium" for the coin. If one of the other dealers get a buyer, they just contact the dealer that actually has the coin to mail it to them, then they mail it to the buyer.... networking, in a sense.

  I have asked this question in the past, and apparently it is common practice, especially so for expensive coins.

  It is not uncommon.
  
  In some cases one dealer owns it and has consigned it to another, in which case you may see 2 different prices.
  
  In some cases, the coin is jointly (or mutli-party) owned in which case you may see it on several sites at once all at the same price.
  
  Or in some cases, the coin may have been sold by one dealer to another and not removed from the original owners site, though that does not seem to be the case in the examples cited.
