Question for Russ and/or Mad Marty *Large pics of SMS 67 Kennedy*

Still in the set... think this is worthy of some TLC and a slab?

From the pictures of the coin it appears that the devices on both sides are nicely frosted (except maybe for the lettering on the reverse adjacent to the rims). As for the fields, you just can not tell how good or bad they are from the pics. There may be haze on the coin that hides the true look of the fields. Further, it looks like their are scratchs on the holder (at least you hope it is on the holder and not the coin). Thus, from the pics alone I can not state that the coin is a WOW coin. However, you never know. If I saw this SMS set and the half, I would look closely at the half and if I suspected a winner lies under the haze and holder, I would buy it in a heartbeat, give it a bath and hope I found a winner.

I had just such an experience yesterday with a 1965 SMS set I picked up on Tuesday. I cut out the half, gave it a bath and a moderately CAM half with really deep watery fields emerged. Glad I bought it.

Nice coin, but the reverse fields would keep it out of a cameo holder. Too shallow.

Excellent file name for the images, though. image
