Just realised how nice it is to pair up your coins, finding similarities and contrasts.
the pairs are 64rb and 64. getting that shield nickel KNOWING it was a perfect match for the Liberty Head was a thrill I can't describe.I couldn't wait to get back from the Baltimore Show to match these up. Similarly, the 2c was the 2nd of its pair. the 50% rb was a very happy match for the ihc. the joys are matching the seconds to the firsts!

Still working on images. These two look very similar in hand. The 1960 has a small raised blob of metal ( I don't know the numismatic term------is there such a thing as a field cud???) One coin was bought locally and the other was bought from a dealer in Des Moines.

Both of the medals below were awarded to the same fellow (B.F. Knapp) in the same year (1869)......the host coins are from different countries and i purchased the coins separately (the Peruvian coin came from a Canadian dealer)

I have oftened wondered what Mr. Knapp did in 1869 that was so special
