There have been other posts on this subject if you do a search. Some of the ones I can recommend are Guilford Coin Exchange in Guilford, Valley Coins in Seymour, A.J. Coins in West Haven, and maybe Sam Sloat Coins in Westport (never been there but they are a huge operation).

I beleive Robert Reimer has a store in Westport. You'll see his ads in Coin World and The Numismatist. You can combine that trip with a visit to Sam Sloat. You also might want to visit Holmes Hiistorical Coins in Stratford. He operates a traditional coin shop out of his house (separate entrance) on Braod St. Call for hours first.

I didn't realize Gene Holmes actually had a little store in that building. He's practically a neighbor (I live in the same town), a eucharistic minister at my church, a genuinely nice guy, and I see him at the local shows, yet I've never been in his shop. I'll have to fix that oversight!

Interesting list of stores and dealers . I work in a coin store , and between my boss and myself we have been in most of the stores mentioned , or know the dealers from various coin shows . More interesting is that none of the names mentioned have been in our coin shop . So, here's a quick ad for our place. The location is 630 Talcottville Rd (route 83) in vernon ct . Vernon coin center , 860 871 6951 . Either together or separately , we have attended about 10 fun shows , 8 baltimore and numerous locations throughout new england . With 28000 + stars on ebay , the store has an extensive inventory of supplies and coins . Mon-Fri 10-5 , Sat 10-3.

Has anyone been to Olde Town Coin in Newington? I went to look for it recently, and could not find the darn place!! >>
They're located in that little triangle of buildings that includes the Dairy Queen on the Berlin Turnpike at the entrance to Big Y (old Media Play and Office Max) complex.

Try Sam Sloat in Westport. They have a good selection of lower end stuff, to really expensive stuff. There are also some large dealers in CT who do not have storefronts (to my knowledge)-- Ellesmere, and Coin Rarities, LLC.
Where in CT are you located?

Alex at CoinSuperstore is a good guy though we haven't been to his shop or New Haven show yet.
