How Do You Get Coins Out Of Rolls When Stuck?

I have some old rolls of cents I bought about 12 years ago from a man at work that was getting out of coins. Some of the 1960 rolls are in plastic rolls that have shrunk and the coins are stuck in the rolls. How would one go about removing them without damage to the coins.

In case you are interested I bought 125 rolls going back to 1952, all uncirculated for $125.00. There were 5 rolls of 55-S and 4 rolls of 54-S in the lot. Two of the rolls of 54-S's are what we used to call Floating S's.

Thanks for any suggestions.

Liquid nitrogen. Dip the rolls in and they will crumble. (The plastic will not the coins.)

Here is an old thread (and hopefully some helpful advice, in addition to a bit of good humor) on this subject: link

Put entire roll over flame on stove. Plastic will burn off leaving the coins free. However please note the house will problably fill with chlorine gas by products. Also try Butane torch on wooden patio table. These methods will also add nice lusterish tones to the coins that the freezer method lacks. To save on fuel consumption you may want to wait until you Bar-B-Que and plaace the rolls on a piece of aluminum foil in the corner of the grill.
Actually the freezer trick works. I've done it many times. Just remember that when the coins come out they will be cold and if your in a high humidity area, there will be moisture condensation formed on the coins. I solved this problem with a small fan pointing at the coins after removal and laying on a soft cotton towel.
