Refuses to provide any references (especially any off eBay) & insists on using PayPal & refuses to mail a check. 
He might be the best guy & the greatest buyer to have in the world but something just doesn't seem right.
Anyone have any info on him from BEFORE his recent eBay spree (or his off eBay numismatic activities)?
I hate to insult a newbie (or impune someone's integrity - just because they are one)

When I informed him that given his feedback & recent flurry of buying that I would require a check (& would refund his PayPal payment immediately), he objected. I counter-proposed that if he could provide an off-eBay numismatic reference, that I would still allow him to use PayPal, he refused.
It is entirely at our discretion who we will & won't accept PayPal from. This is the 1st one in over 500-1000 people that we decided to NOT take it from. There are just too many little red flags, like, in addition to all the above, him barely speaking any english, insisting that we shipped the coin overnight as soon as (i.e. today) his PayPal payment (now refunded) came thru, & NEVER leaving anyone else any feedback.
Please tell us how we erred, once again?

Why would you do that? Does he have an unconfirmed shipping address?

Yeah, it's always a bad idea to sell to someone who doesn't speak English well. We should screen out any customer who isn't a WASP.
