Yet another Cheerios Sacagawea $1.00 on eBay (orig packaging)

Buy it and Share Results with us ?

Is anyone brave enough to buy one of these off eBay. That's assuming you even want one in the first place. image

Won't someone bid on this and then share the news on it with us? Who knows maybe one of the Coin Publications will do a story on you. image

I am willing to bet there will be more scams in the future with these. I imagine scammers have figured out that there is demand and limited quantity, therefore opportunity

Send a mail to the seller and ask if he can tell the difference between the tail feathers on the one in the package and one from the pocket. Tell him you will bid big if he answers correctly. image

One of our posters here could verify in person if that package was resealed.

The last time I ran across a questionable, I wrote the seller asking him (thanks to advice from someone on the boards here) to take a new picture of the coin against the backdrop of the daily paper (to show current date). He did that, told me his dad had it when it first came out and read this story about it and went diggin' through his china hutch til he found it and he was selling it for his dad.

I left for Canada that week and see it sold for less than three grand (2950) I don't believe the price will go much below that and only up from there. A coin is worth what someone is willing to pay. There seem to be more buyers keeping that coin over the 2500 level and reserve prices seldom fall below that mark.

as an example: I purchased a low leaf 2004 Wisconsin quarter on ebay months ago. I sniped it from a new seller. After emailing and communicating, I could tell she knew little and with almost NO feedback, it was risky but the bottom fell out of them coins for a little while as ebay was flooded and the action slowed.

She said she got it from the bank. Snipe price: $75 PCGS grading fees: $40 Sell Price : $867 (to forum member)

    Value by PCGS : $1250. WORTH ? What seller/buyer deem fit ! (MS66 PCGS)

I listed another I bought recently and see there is one in AU58 going for over $200 at a Buy It NOW price. the bottom was around a hundred, now there are fewer and the price is on the upswing. Strange, eh ?

Here's a Q & A off the auction. Kind of avoiding the Q if you ask me.

Q: Can you absolutely guarantee 100% that the package has never been opened and re-sealed? Thanks for your time! Dave

A: Hey Dave Without a doubt, the package has never been poened or resealed. Thanks,Sean

He's avoiding it by saying it was never poened. image

If I was trying to convince some one that the package wasn't opened, I may have worded it better.

    Like:

'YES 100% guaranteed" - he didn't say he guaranteed it.

But, I really have no idea if this is good or not, I've never seen one so I have absolutely no knowledge of the Sac. He just didn't say he guaranteed it.
