I just spent a wonderful numismatic day
I worked in Denver yesterday, and drove down to Colorado Springs last night. I went to the ANA Library this morning, and I had the whole thing to myself for the full day. The Librarian (Amber) was the only other person there, and she cheerfully explained how everything is arranged and made copies of everything I wanted.
I found a few books that I have been looking for, for years, and several that I never knew existed. She copied over 200 pages, and I checked out 7 books. It is an outstanding facility, and worth supporting the ANA just for it alone. Actually you can search their full library on line now, and even request books by e-mail.
I spent a little time in the museum at lunch time, but almost all day was in the library. If you are ever in Colorado, you must visit the ANA headquarters in Colorado Springs.

I have never been there......
I have to make it one day...
As I go to Springer New mexico twice a month, which makes Colorado Springs a short drive...

I'd love to go now...
I find that the more numismatic knowledge I have, the easier it is to stay not only interested in general, but it's also easier to develop other specific coin-collecting geographical interests.
Did you take any pictures?

There were too many bookshelves, and not enough space to move back for more pictures. I have heard that the estimate is about 70,000 books. It was like being a kid in a candy store.
The only bad thing was having to drive around Colorado Springs in my Non Snow Car. It is great for the beach and summer, but not for snow. It was a really long drive home Sunday.

That is just my humble opinion. Try driving in the snow in the mountains in a sporty Chevy Cavalier!
