1878-s VAM Help

I have a VAM-6 and I am trying to see what the difference is between the VAM-6 and VAM-22 doubled motto coins using my VAM book without much luck.image From what I can tell the VAM-6 has a broken r in trust and the VAM-22 does not. Does the VAM-22 have any stars with points broken off?

Can someone give me an internet site where I can find a picture of VAM-22? Also, are there other 1878-S VAM's that have doubling on all the motto besides the VAM-6 and VAM-22?

Thanks,
Charlie

Vam-22 has a wild looking R of PLURIBUS. Doubling is shifted left, on vam-6 it's shifted right.

The mintmark on VAM-22 is shifted left, on VAM-6 it's centered. Vam-22 has an overpolished nose, 6 does not.

Thanks Jack... This coin appears to have some doubling, but not wild, on the motto. Can you tell from these pictures if this coin might be a VAM-22?

You have a VAM-16. Look for a die scrath coming out the bottom of the right wing (left side of the reverse).

I don't see any die scratch in the wing, but I think you are right about it being VAM-16. The motto doubling looks just like that shown in my book particulary the little tail on the U. I don't know why I didn't see that before.image

I have all of the double mottos, generally mistakes in trying to cherry VAM-6 from auction catalogues and fuzzy online images. I think they are all collectible and fun even if they are not in the "lists". That scratch is hard to see on some too and there is likely early die states with no scratch.
