Has there been any additional information about the roll of MS 1901-s quarters
Seems to be back in the Summer there was a story floating around that someone had come into posession of an original bank roll of 1901-s quarters.
I haven't seen any information about it lately.
Anyone know of any update?

I concur. That would be BIG front page news, and I've never seen anything about it.

I think it would be pretty hard to hide, though, unless you only released one of them every couple of years. With TPGs and condition censuses, a more rapid increase in population of mint state '01-S quarters would be VERY quickly noticed.

This wasn't the original article but it does mention the quarter rumor.
Rumor= ??????
While I dont know if the coins are going up for auction, a dealer out here that looked at the estates some time ago has said that there was a roll of every S mint coin, (dollar to penny from 1890ish to 1937 I believe.
Just because they dont sell at auction doesnt mean that there wasnt a private treaty. Hawaii is the land of the back door deal, and getting the auction through who they did, confirms that.

But at what cost? Looking at just the NGC census, I see a total of 16 mint state 1901-S quarters. Some of these could be resubmissions.
Even if PCGS had a similar amount of them graded, I would think flooding the market with 40 more of them -- and probably close to tripling the supply -- would have a significant impact on the upper end of the price scale and maybe a little impact down lower. Sure, it would still take a LOT of money, and more than I have to spend on a coin, but more like a prince's ransom instead of a king's ransom.
I have trouble believing that if 40 MS '01-S quarters, prices wouldn't drop at least somewhat for at least a while.
I doubt this is even true, but who would have thought a ridiculous amount of mint state 1903-O Morgans would have been found in the early 1960s, either?

It was either Bowers or someone other old time dealer I talked to 15-20 years ago that said there was a BU roll set of Barbers in New England somewhere...and that included all denominations and
1901-s 25c as well. I would have been easy enough to do to someone who lived during that period. And I have no reason not to believe such a thing could be out there.
An antique dealer in my area has 1 or 2 orig rolls of BU 89-cc dollars.
He's been offered a ton but will not part with them yet. There's lots of stuff still buried out there.
