What circulated (Good to Very Fine) Buffalo nickels, if any, have any substantial value?

Will be looking through a large number of these buffalo nickels and would appreciate any tips on what specific dates, mintmark and varieties to look out for.

Thanks, SanctionII.

Most of the mintmarked earlier coins are worthwhile, generally 1913-1926. Varieties such as minor doubled dies and RPMs are possible and bring some premium, but the best (and rarest) to be watchful for are the 1916 DDO and 1918/7 D. Of course the 1937D three legged buffalo is also scarce and quite valuable in lower than VF grades.

Then again, just use a price guide - it will tell you all you are asking for here.

You can also cherrypick two-feather obverses for many dates through 1930, those will bring at least a slight premium and they're really easy to look for, you don't even need a loupe. To CC's list above I would specifically mention the 1917-D and 1927-D 3-leg, 1930 "5 leg" DDR, and the 1935 DDR as coins to look out for.
