why the new anacs will help

It is of my oppinion that when it comes to crossing over the high end money coins , We all know it is virtually impossible to cross an ngc coin at the same grade to pcgs. I feel now anacs is going to want to make itself consistently right. There going to start fresh trying to grab more of the market share ,as per the new Anacs with the new slab. DONT you think that once they give the grade that the coin deserves this is going to force pcgs and ngc to cross the new high end coin at the same grade? I feel pcgs and ngc will not want any of the higher end money coins in someone elses slab . THIS is my oppinion, Lets here yours!

  • For the sake or argument, say your supposition is correct, and the new ANACS crossed a lot of so-called high end money coins. If they do so, they will no longer be high end money coins, supply and demand and all that. I disagree that it is virtually impossible to cross a NGC coin to PCGS. Sure, it is tough, but depending on the series and the coin, it has been done by many and will continue to be done. NGC says it is almost as difficult to cross from PCGS to their holders, though with most series, there is not a strong incentive to do so, as there is the other way.

ANACS has a tabula rosa (blank sheet of paper) with their new holder. They could fill it with scribble in the next six months, and stay about where they are, or they may become more of a player, if they play their cards right. Things tend to happen slowly in the coin business, so look for subtle changes rather than an overnight sensation. PCGS and NGC will react if ANACS starts taking major market share, make no mistake about that.

If PCGS doesn't want big money coins in other companies' holders, why are they so difficult about crossing NGC coins?

mr eureka, good point maybe it has something to do with Montgomery now being at ngc. BY THE WAY I HEARD NGC HAS ALREADY DECIDED TO FEATURE THERE SLABS WITH CLEAR PLASTIC, I HEARD THIS TROUGH A PRETTY RELIABLE SOURCE, JUST MAYBE THERE WORRIED ABOUT THE NEW ANACS TEAM. I FEEL ANACS HAS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY , ONLY TIME WILL TELL IF THEY BLOW IT.

Wouldn't it be a good idea to wait and see what ANACS actually plans to do?
