<< <i>Wouldn't the seller have to pay the commission fees for the sale amount >>
Only if he does not file for a refund on the commission fees. If he lets the buyer back out, then all he has to do is file an NPB. If he chooses the correct option, then nothing will reflect on the buyer. It was just a simple error.
Edited to say: Although, wouldn't it be neat if the buyer actually knew what he was doing and pay the $10,000.
I contacted the member about the transaction and this is what he replied back:
Hello,
Thank you for your concern and you are exactly correct in not getting the decimal point into the number and my finger hit the enter key and the rest is history. I have contacted the buyer and Ebay to indicate this error so that all will be handled properly including the buyer not be subjected to a large fee. I am surprised that the amount did not record as the next highest bid instead of this enormous number, but I just want to get this corrected in the proper fashion.
Your words are comforting.
Best regards,
BufNickel

Ya, that's got to be a mistake on the buyers part, but you never know. Coin collectors are a crazy bunch.

Yes it is wasting space but I think the bidder forgot to add the decimal and was intending $20.51.

Thank God the "wasted thread space police" are here! I thought that I might have to suffer alone.
Geez.
