Something all VAM collectors should know.....

If you are building a Registry set in PCGS only, you should be aware that PCGS will not slab EDS coins. Some collectors have had coins come back with hand written notes on them indicating that the coin(s) were too EDS to be attributed.... To date, I have not seen a PCGS vam with the words "EDS" on them, nor "LDS". So, if you decide to plunk down thousands on a coin like this keep in mind, it'll never have the designation on the holder.....

So... how early is too early?.... I'll update you once I hear something on the Q+A board.....

Here's an early die state 1923 vam-1a, do you suppose it could be crossed to PCGS?

moosesr, it's hard to tell, but from the looks of the shadow, the break on the shoulder appears to be late enough to get the designation. Do you have a close up pic ?

I found it on ebay, I don't see how you could it was a 1'o' Bar Wing from the ebay pictures?

Randy and I bid this coin up on ebay a month or so ago... both of us knew it was attributed wrong.... the coin in the holder is a 1'o' Bar Wing, not a Whisker Jaw. The seller who sold it to Randy on ebay obviously bought it on TT...... this is the coin.... I dont think Randy kew it was his coin at first....

look at the cert #... have you ever seen a smaller number?
