All postal services are running really slow right now, it's not just you.

Yesterday I received a coin that was postmarked in SC, on Nov 22, a full FOURTEEN days.

I have to disagree about the speed of the USPS right now. In the last week, I have received a number of packages and padded mailers faster than normal. It is as if they have added additional help for the Holidays and they are moving things faster. I live in Michigan so maybe it is a regional thing. It can't be the weather - we have had the coldest and snowiest weather in 20 years...

The test will be whether my Registered package to PCGS gets to them any faster than the normal 7-10 days.

Lets not forget the weather factor, when airports are shut down, mail goes nowhere.

For those of you who use the flat rate boxes for registered mail it sounds like that may be coming to an end. I'm told by smoeone here that using those for registered mail was not within the spirit of the intent for flat rate service, since registered is usually not sent any faster using priority service.

The Post Office is a crap shoot. If evereything works right it works right. There's mis-barcoded, eaten by equipment, and, " oops the sub did it". It's difficult dealing with a dieing concern. Registered Mail still has some integrity but you can run into difficulty making a claim.

It's December. The Christmas rush has started. With the downsizing in staff and the hiring of temporary workers you may experience delays in the delivery of packages. I try not to order anything during the month of December because of the delays.

Zackly!! There is no way that I could deliver a letter to the town 10 miles down the road for 37 cents.

Give me a break. It's been 9 days. If you are in more of a rush, why not drive it yourself to get it? I too can be impatient to get a new purchase, but come on. You are trying to get something at Christmas through the mail. It might take a little bit longer.

Well, I received a piece of junk mail, but here is where it gets very interesting. Since I moved to east central Illiniois from NE Illinois, I have my mail sent to the new address. Well, a car dealer from Chicago sent a flyer to me, but before it got to me, it reached all the way to Alaskaimage, where it was postmarked on 11/22, and I only got it Wednesday. Talk about inefficient. But the USPS is good for that - and why should they get a postal increase?

  • The Fact is...

The USPS handles more items in one day then FedEx dose the whole year...

More in three days then UPS dose the whole year...

It only takes hours for the USPS to surpass the small carriers...

May take some extra time sometimes but it will show...
