Everyone has heard of "Junk Silver", has anyone heard of "Junk Gold"............

at anytime during the history of the USA? When I hear "Junk Silver", I think of sommon silver coins that have no numismatic value, only value based upon precious metal content. Does the same thing apply to U.S. gold coins minted prior to 1934 or do all of these older U.S. gold coins have numismatic value above the bullion value?

Old jewlery can also be considered junk gold.
I'm sure there are more examples.
silver for that matter, "junk gold" is a bit of an oxymoron!
If anyone has any gold they truly consider junk, please PM me for an address for quick,
easy and free disposal.
