Does anyone know or have seen this VAM? 1887 PL -- hello??? any vam guys here today?

1887 PL .. I can't figure this one out for the life of me..

Die polish lines in the bow (there are also some along the legs but that shot didn't come out well).

Eagle's left wing is doubled feathers.

But here's the kicker....Looks like a dropped 6 or 8 in the denticles.

May be a VAM-13 or VAM-17. Look under the first 8 for a faint MPD in the denticles. You also might have a new find.

Looks like part of 87 in denticles, with top of 7 showing up twice. I don't have info with me right now, but will try to check later.

That is definitely the VAM 17 obverse. The listing for VAM 17 says normal reverse. If you have doubling on the reverse, perhaps Leroy just didn't catch it on the coin he inspected the first time. He'll probably still call it VAM 17, but revise the listing for the doubled reverse if you send it to him.

No wonder I didn't know this one....it's not in my copy of the 4th edition of Morgan and peace dollars..... They end with Vam 16 for the 1887 P.....
