Anybody try contacting PCGS lately? Any luck??

I've had a bulk submission that was "entered for further processing" on 9/1/05 - it consisted of 120 coins. I have sent several emails and get the automated response that somebody will get back in a few days - nothing so far. From there I made a couple of phones calls and had to leave messages - basically pleading for some correpondence. I'm concerned that the coins were lost - particularly now that I'm getting absolutely no response from anybody there. Whatdya think? Should I be concerned, and keep up the emails/calls, or cool it for awhile?
Has anybody else been able to get through & get any answers from Long Beach lately? Thanks! Chuckimage

Is there a BLACKOUT DATE ?????? probably a major show going on ???? If so, don't panic, the graders have other responsibilities I think during these dates.

Just from what I know of..... but I don't know a whole lot.

I called them yesterday. Had no problem. My order is in sealing right now.

This is why I am losing faith in any type of consistent and broad based fairness from PCGS. From what I read and see here on the boards it's like a crap shoot as to when and who gets their coins graded on a timely basis. Doesn't PCGS have some sort of first in first out for each service level?

I called them yesterday to find out why an order that was received last week wasn't yet entered in the system. The phone was answered quickly, and the gal was quite helpful.

Yes, but their FIFO system was created in an alternate universe.

I submitted a coin to be holdered with an error annotated and it was received on 9/7/05. They had it over 3 months the first time. I called several times and had to call David Hall's secretary to get results. They had it awaiting processing for over a month. There was a communication breakdown internally. She was very nice and my coin was returned yesterday. Good luck! Ray

    Freebies!

  • OH YEAH!! there is justice to all this madness! image
  • Here's another thing, speaking of freebies......maybe it's just a conspiracy theory, but does it seem to anybody else that those come back rather lower than you would expect? Then you resubmit to get the proper grade at a later time, so is it really free?image

I haven't sent this quarter's special in yet, but I will be interested in the grade I get - Yikes! I better get moving...only 3 weeks to go!!!

I haven't seen any difference in the grading of freebies compared to paid submissions. They're all undergraded. image

My dealer sent in an order last Thursday, and my part of it was entered in the system on Monday.

I've never had them reply to an email during blackout or not. They just don't do it.

I did send PCGS an e-mail when they listed another proof coin in the data base but did not give it a "CA" designation for cameo. They did not directly respond tom the e-mail, but the did correct the on-line database.

I have spoken to a live person every time I have called PCGS. Calling and speaking to a live person is always more effective than e-mail.

Russ, remember the horror story I told you about my Express submission? Stayed at PCGS 2 weeks after being graded due to a glitch? Well, I got exactly ZERO freebies. The reason given was it was graded within the proper time frame!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It just sat around for 2 weeks after before being sent back to me. But, then my economy, popped up with about 14 days to go.
