2005 Unc set and Proof set, over $30 on Ebay

I've noticed a steady climb. the Unc set seems to just be pushing into the lower $30 area with some still going for the high $20's.

Proof sets seem to be mid to upper $30's.

Original price of Unc. $16.95, proof $22.95.

We're not rich yet, but we're not broke either.

I'm surprised the Proof sets are going that high as the mintage was 2 mill+. The Mint sets have a much lower number and who knows how many will survive after submissions due to the high quality. I bet both sets will do well in the long run due to one year type coins. Chris

Good....let them mint sets go up....I ended up with 10 through returns with the mint, etc, and stopped when they were all good (I probably sent back around 15 sets total through different orders). So, I have 10 very nice sets and will likely sell about 5 or so.....

let them go up up and away image

  • I have a Mint sealed box with 5 Proof sets.....do you think it would fetch more if I left box sealed and sold them as one lot, or better to sell them individually?

I sold a 2005 Mint Set last nite on EBAY for $24.01. By the time I pay commissions etc etc, I'm lucky to break even. image

  • I gave my brother 3 05 silver proof sets as a birthday present for his new triplets.

I hope they out do the 99 silver proof set in the long run.

I also hope they will keep them until they are 18 or more. could be big bucks by then.

    In about 40 years, yes.
In the near term, I don't think so.

I ordered additional Unc sets on 11/05 and they are still posted to be shipped on 12/01, that not going to happen. It was a shot in the dark if I get them fine, if not, thats fine also.
