How Much would you pay for these Five Coins?

How Much would you pay for these Five Coins? There's only one stupulation: You can't simply turn around and sell the coin. It must remain in your collection for ten years first.

Okay, so what is the most you would pay for the following each:

1) 1881-S PCGS Morgan dollar. White, in a MS65 holder. Has no chance to upgrade. Mid-65.

2) AU50 1921 Peace dollar. PCGS graded. Lustrous white with a full strike. Attractive coin but obvious wear.

3) 1793 Chain Cent, PCGS AG03. A ghost, partial date with full portrait and chain. "United States of America" is 2/3 missing. No damage, though extremely light corrosion.

4) Rainbow toned PCGS MS66 1971-D Ike dollar. Lots of luster and pretty pastel colors although marks keep it out of a MS67 holder.

and...

5) 1923 Saint PCGS MS64. Commercial coin with hits although appears it's the grade, it's a liner.

Whether it's 1c or $1,000.00, what would you pay for each of the above?

somewhere in the 1600 to 1800 range for the chain cent...

    face value for the dollars

not even face value for the Saint.

Just because I'm old doesn't mean I don't love to look at a pretty bust.

    1) $150
    2) $50
    3) $30
    4) $60
    5) $600

Not sure if that is completely low on the scale, but since you said they had to remain in my collection, and asked what I would pay, that is all I would pay on "sight unseen".

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • 1. $80 I have enough of these

    2. I really have no ideaa what these are worth but probably $125.

    3. $2500.

    4. $10 I don't like Ikes

    5. $700 To me it's one step up from a bullion coin.

I'd go with the $23.01. However, after actually looking at them I might raise my price to about $23.02

need a picture of the IKE to decide where between $20 and $2000
  • Only $325 for this Saint? It would have to be clipped, too...

(Just think of city streets clogged with a hundred thousand horses each generating 15 lbs of manure every day...)

Ahh--"Clipped too"image It said you had to hold for 10 years--the bullion price may drop below that at some point so to break even you have to be able to sell at $650 plus costs (10% ROR). The 1793 Chain is supposed to be nice (extreemly lite corrosion is rare), it will always be in demand for type sets so 10 year hold is OK IMHO--ie. less long term risk.
