I think I want to sell something, but what?

Let's say I have a little bit of everything and am felling the urge to sell something. Based on the current market what would you unload right now? I am not talking about bullion I mean which particular series or type. Would it be modern stuff, bust, washington, ect....?

I really do need to trim back on some stuff that I have no strong desire to collect.

    A) Organize your collection by themes (Type set, series you hope to complete, even just cool coins. When you are done and have a small collection of coins that did not fit, sell them!

    B) Moderns you don't need for a type set.

I would sell the bust stuff, it seems that prices are really inflated right now.

Sell the coins you're least excited about. The ones that you just can't get rid of, keep.

Sell any modern that has risen sharply in recent years.

If you have not looked at a coin for two years, sell it. You will not notice that its gone.

Sell all your monster toned stuff. All your NT that looks suspiciously AT.

I truely believe all toned Coin lovers are really just frustrated dinner plate collectors.

    Thanks for all the replies....

stman: aahha...you still remember the 24/4....hard to forget a great bust huh! image It's still part of the set..not going to let her go yet.

Cladiator: I have only owned 1 Bust quarter...believe it or not a 32 in AU...bad news though, I sold it the last time around.

itsnotjustme: Organizatoin done....Moderns are what I've been thinking about thinning out on...

Steve27: I know Bust coinage is hot right now but this is one of the two series that I have really spent a lot of time working on..Just can't get myself to let go of anything now.....I do have a few XF/AU raw BH's that I could sell....

1jester, 291fifth: that would be the modern stuff..definitely have a lot of proof and mint sets that I don't need....

Nysoto: I tend to yank it all out every few months and look at it...next time its out I'll have to sort....keep/sell

FullStrike: Most of my toners are part of my keeper sets....I probably have a few that don't fit though...I agree...they're selling high.

I just go through the coins and make three piles, no pile can have more then 20 coins. Pile one are keep forever coins, 2 want to keep, and pile three sell. That keeps the inventory down and I take the funds from the sales to buy one new nice coin. I have moved to qualtity vs quantity.

    Just my system, goodluck

Put everything in a bag and take it all to a bank and let them run it all through their counter.
Or call in the neiborhood kids, lay out all the coins and say help yourself to half. Then keep the rest.
Or have a giveaway for YN's on this forum.
Or dump it all in one of the Salvation Army buckets like that person that dose that each year with the gold coins.
Find a charity that will take a coin collection similar to the ones that take cars and give them the whole mess.
You sound bored or tired of coin collecting. Just get rid of everything and start all over. Then you'll notice which types you really want to buy.
