Painful Submission

I guess I had my coin goggles on when I graded these! I thought every nickel was a solid full stepper (except the 60-D which is a nice 5545 steps). The lincolns on lines 1-4 I thought would be at least a 66.

I decided to change calling the bathroom the John and renamed it the Jim. I feel so much better saying I went to the Jim this morning.

Anytime I begin to feel like I know about grading, I get humbled by a submission like this. I simply see it as a learning experience. I cannot wait to examen the coins without my coin goggles on.

  • Jeffs are hard to grade for me.

Knowing that I am no Keets or Clackamas, I tried only 4 Jeffs I thought were FS gems. I only got them half right -- 2 came back 64FS, and 2 came back 65, no FS. image

Either that, or it's a nice opportunity for the grading company's resubmission profits......

If you feel strongly about the grade/full step designation of a particular coin you have to be willing to crack 'em and try again.

I wish it wasn't that way.

You can't help but laugh or cry, and by laughing you may live longer. You are a generous person to have invested that much money to make the low pop coins seem even more special. Don't lose hope. Maybe studying the Heritage archives will enable you to see if you are missing something.
    I brake for ear bars.
