This is the variety that shows the obverse clashmarks from a Liberty Seated Half Dollar. What is the current rarity rating and price of this variety? Is it hard to find? I'm thinking about adding it to my Liberty Seated half dollar collection because I think it would be an interesting tie in to the series. Thanks for any info you can provide.

    hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

    current price

well lets assume you got a solid for the grade ms 64 coin pcgs and it is average strike with some planchet striations or a weakly struck coin that is in an ms 64 holder and really ms 65 but a weak strike with some spots i would say retail around 1300-1550

now letd assume you got an above average eye appeal no stains spotting planchet striations and 100% strongly struck and is in a pcgs holder ms 64 and a really nice ms 64 then this coin to me is worth 2500

as for rarity ratings hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm i would say 275-375+ known

Actually Michael, I'm looking for one in a circulated grade. I know it would be tougher to see but the higher graded ones are a lot more money.

I found this site fly-inclub that shows the rarity but theres no prices to go with the pops.

The Fly-In Club also has its own set of message boards. You might want to post this over there.

I think you are way low on the top (premium for this variety is WELL OVER 100% of greysheet) and a little low on the bottom. I would say if properly attributed in a PCGS holder you'd need to add about $1,250 to your estimates. HERE is an ANACS MS64 that sold for over $2,500 recently. It looks like it's all there but still no guarantee it will cross to PCGS at same grade.

Also, VF's regularly go for well over $100 & near $200.

Thats neat! An error ANACS cert! Early on, it was thought that the S-8 was a half dollar clash reverse. (It's a 25¢)

The 50¢ clash is worth a 2X premium. Very popular variety!
