Good Morning all. Gotta keep this Auction in sight as we are coming down the stretch.
Tell me, are ALL but a few collectors and Dealers from the great Northeastern part of this country, the most densely populated part of our great Nation, a bunch of Landlubbers or what? I find this incredible.
With all the retired service people, particularly retired Seamen, I cannot believe that you all do not know what it's like to spend a day out on the water. How relaxing! What a great way to get away from it all.....a wonderful stress reliever.
Then again, most Numismatists do not have Sea legs and would probably get seasick and spend the day talking to "Ralph."
Bob, like I told you the other day, a great friend of mine, also named Bob (coincidentally) was President of the Yacht Club in Fairhope, Alabama and the name of his pride and joy was "The Seven Joys" (a six pack and a woman) What a Yacht that thing is! and I spent many a day, many a 4th of July on that boat in Mobile Bay and always enjoyed it. If I could and was not so far away I'd jump on your most generous offer in a New York second. Watching fireworks anchored out in the Bay is actually quite spectacular with the mirror effect.
Either these people are a bunch of rubber legged Landlubbers or they do not get out much, let alone get out on the water. What a pity!

I went by what LeeG posted. I'm Central. Spring - forward. Fall...back to normal., anyway 8:00PM East Coast Time You wanna host some pictures of what this Charity is all about this year? I have a shot that shows just how fortunate I am. a satellite view of just how far the storm surge of Rita came in and of all the towns that were totally underwater.
It's for these people and it's only a local shot of the surrounding area. If anyone wants to host it let me know and I'll explain just how right in my back yard people drowned and lost everything. Besides the downtrodden, the lonely, the children, there is now all this and much much more to cope with as it was from State line East all across to State line West courtesy of two Cat 5 Hurricanes within a Month.
Thank you to everyone that participated. Thanks to the donors but most of all congratulations to the winners. I am working on a satellite view that will be posted by TUMUSS that shows just here in my local area how widespread the flooding is and how many peoples' lives you will touch.
Once you see that photo you will see why I personally am so grateful and driven to help all these people that I've known practically all my life. Bear in mind that this is not the hardest hit spot, that either way, Eastward or Westward, things were totally devastated and forever wiped off the face of the planet. THIS IS WHY I AM ORGANIZING ANOTHER AUCTION. It's way too early to stop now....too many people homeless and hurting and YOUR generosity willl affect many lives. Bless all of you. I'd like to shake each and every one of your hands.
PayPal Payments are to be sent to quarterguy@bellsouth.net. If you want to chance snail mail you ewill need to contact me for that info as I am not putting it out for all to see.
Once again, thank you all, but I'm not stopping. I've got a bunch of coins that I am trying to have certified and very shortly, possibly later tonite or tomorrow, I will start listing new ites for Auction #2.
Lot #5c- Outhaul's book- "The Complete Guide to Certified Barber Coinage", David & John Feigenbaum, c.1999 AS NEW - current high bid $25 placed by manofcoins PAID
Lot #5d- Outhaul's book- "Adventures With Rare Coins", Q.D. Bowers, c.1980 (3rd printing), EX condition.- Current bid- $15 by Numismanic PAID Check in the mail
Lot#6- Up for auction, in support of the Boom Foundation, is a one-day sailing experience on the SV Lazybones, hailing port East Greenwich, RI, a $500 package. CURRENT HIGH BID IS $175 from oreville (to be carried over thru next auction AT OUTHAUL'S REQUEST)
I have a few items for the next auction which I will begin to list very soon. Bob has expressed a desire to keep his item running which by allrights is his perogative.
After I am done with this one I will commence listings for the next one and will be accepting any donations any of you might care to donate while I try to find a way to make the most out of what was sent by Mr. Plowman.
So far I have asked around and although I may not be able to bulk submit it all, if not half, I will continue to ask around for at least a few more days. I must say that I DO have a couple very good prospects. Thanks again to everyone but it's still 3 weeks till Christmas and we have the ability with the right connections to set a new record that may very well stand for quite some time. I have some very good allies working behind the scenes and they know who they are.
I am so very pleased and proud. Proud of all those who stepped forward, proud to do this in the Names of Numismatists everywhere....very pleased indeed. For something that just 3 years ago looked like I'd be hanged in the Town Square, for the record setting year last year and for the NEW record that WILL BE SET THIS YEAR!!
Thank you one and all but it ain't over yet....NOT EVEN CLOSE! Let me catch my breath. I can't type this fast to so many people. I'm proud of all of you and grateful as well. If I can get TUMUSS to give you a shot of just how close I came to being wiped by Hurricane Rita, it just may shed some new light on the significance of my gratitude most of all, to the Big Man Upstairs.
I ask everyone's patience as I have a lot of updating to do along with a HUGE decision to make regarding a mass bulk submission and my personal items to ship, so please bear with me. I have a lot to do.
Zug has paid, I have paid, manofcoins has paid, 2bucks has paid, the 79-S has been paid for. If there are any doubts as to who has paid or not, just drop me a PM. The #s will be updated later. SEE ABOVE FOR WHO HAS PAID AND WHO HAS NOT AND THE OVERALL STATUS OF THE AUCTION.
Numbers will be updated later this evening.
Anyone needing to contact me please email me because if I don't log off for now I'll never get this work done. The address is in my profile.
