Do you wish coin prices would go up, or do you hope for cheaper prices in the future?

Greetings, All -

I know this has been discussed before, but would you rather see coin prices double over the next five years (think of how much more valuable your collection will be), or would you rather see prices half of what they are now (think of the coins that you could then afford to buy)?

Which are you hoping for? Does it even matter?

I would like the values of the coins I own to double in the next five years; while I would like the coins I want to buy have their values drop in the next five years.

I hope prices stay where they are now. I collect coins for the enjoyment and (lets face it), the ego trip of owning something that only a few other people have. I don't anticipate selling anytime in the near future and since I'm still buying, lets keep those prices down.

Thats my take on it anyway

I'd like for the same thing to happen to coin collecting that happened to stamp collecting. Less attention, fewer collectors, lower prices.

Unsurprisingly, I'd like to see dramatic gains in coins I hold for speculation and stedy or
even slightly falling prices for coins I need in collections. I usually only work collections
that are out of favor and trade off the popular ones.

Some of the popular ones will be kept until the market cools and it can grow some more.

Now that I've sold off a lot of my stuff, I want the prices to go down.

Hope the Presidental Dollar program falls thru and you may just get your wish a few years after the State Quarters are all said and done.
