What is the mintmark that you can tell? Is it even an 1896? I look and see an S.. and look again and see an O.. image

    Call on Superman for X-Ray eyes! I got a 13-S (or a 12-S) quarter in the same PO1 condition that I got out of a dealer's junk box years ago. I sent it to NGC - no results yet. But, at that grade, I'll need a slab to sell it!

    If you need an electron miscrope to see the mintmark, best to call it a P mint.

    They are with my $200 digital camera and a loupe. But the whole reason I am so curious is because I am going crazy trying to figure out if I have one of the keys to the series...
