thanks to the mets for putting mike jacobs name in the news, cuz i have about 15 of his stadium club and fusion rooks and they sell for about 25 each

The Mets had two glaring weaknesses last season - 1B (lack of hitting) and closer (faded end of season). They addressed them both. Nice work - if they don't win the NL now, Minaya should be fired pretty quickly.

It's tough on us Phillies fans losing Wagner, but that is a lot of guaranteed money and length of contract to pay for a pitcher that had previously been injured. Of course any player can get injured and previously injured players may not necessarily get injured again...still...that's a lot of money.

Must be nice to be a Yankees or Mets fan with seemingly unlimited bankrolls buying (stealing) almost every player they want. This massive spending sure has been bringing you lots of championships - LOL.

mets really didnt add to there payroll. it might seem that way. but piazza and cameron and looper freed up 30 million. and there looking to unload matsui contract as well.

You have to keep Wright - he'll be an All-Star at 3B in the NL before you know it.

Or Willie will, anyway, have to wonder if the Mets starters and pen can get the game to Wagner. Pedro is a six inning pitcher most of the time, and if he is stretched early in the season he will flame out. Benson is too worried about bangin his wife in a McDonalds bathroom while video taping it.

Still, the Mets are a better team now.

The Mets were actually 3rd in the N.L last year in team E.R.A . Scoring runs and having someone dependable to close games was the Mets biggest problems last year. Not their starters.

Also, Pedro avg. 7 innings per outing and had 4 complete games last year. Pitching in the N.L definetly helped out Pedro last year.
