What is going on inside the ribbon ??

This is my first Buffalo, planned to crack it out and place in 7070 Dansco, after looking at coin in hand decided to keep the coin the way it is and buy a raw example for the dansco.

I agree, with the exception that the morgan should be in a 64 holder image

Everything I write is my opinion.

    Looking for alot of crap.
  • This is a nice 63 coin, plus I enjoy coins that aren't run of the mill, ie roller marks and die clashing.

That's a very nice Morgan dollar and cool die clash.

    Nice 1938-D Buffalo nickel. MS65.

I just flipped a morgan picture over to see what would clash by the neck of the eagle. Just hair curls there and don't look like what you've got there. I would presume it's a small die gouge.

The die clash above the Eagle's Right Wing is caused by the front of Liberty's neck:

Here are the most common die clashes:

This one is not that common:

Not sure about that gouge, but let me chime in also and tell you-those are great pics.
Some coins are just plain "Interesting"
  • I see two things at the eagle's neck. The top part looks like a clash from Liberty's hair. The horizontal spike looks like a die gouge.... same as the line inside the ribbon.

The mark above the wing is a Die Clash. I've never seen a die clash in the ribbon so I would assume it's a gouge.

You also have a Die Clash to the right of the eagle by the wreath. This is perhaps the most commonly seen Die Clash.
