Newp: 1870 seated half dollar- Comments welcome.

When I first saw this XF45 1870 seated half dollar on the B,S,&T forum last week, I knew it would make a great addition to my Philadelphia Mint liberty seated half dollar collection. I really liked the toning and details of the coin. It just caught my eye in a split second! I would like your opinions. Thanks.

The seated half looks nice... somewhere in the XF40-45 range. I've got a 1844 in at PCGS that has somewhat similar spotted toning. It will be interesting to see how they see this coin. It was in an ANACS AU-53 holder.

Both are very nice coins. I would grade the 1870 as XF40 and the 1844 as AU53.

Well...you know I like it.

You need to get yourself some reveal bulbs for photographing. The one you are using is putting way too much yellow into the pic.

Both great looking coins. I will go xf40 on the 1870. And I think the 1844 could even merit a 55 in todays grade flated world.

Both lovely classic material.
