    Search "widget" and you will see numerous threads on the topic. I am sorry that you might have missed them in real time, but defining "widget" is an exercise that is too painful to repeat again. If you read the threads, you will see exactly what I mean. image

    Widget---Any coin that can be easily located and bought. Common date Morgans, Saints, moderns, etc are examples. The term is used in a derogatory manner by some dealers to denigrate what other dealers are selling. In reality, most coins are "widgets".

    So, what you're telling me is that all my common date Morgans in 64 and 65 are known as "Widgets?"image

    With the exception of the common dates in 65 that are exorbitant in price at that grade.

    I think that the widget concept (if not the term) is more of a dealer notion than a collector one. Continue to collect whatever coins you like, as in the end, you only have yourself to please .

    A collector of very expensive fine art might consider all coins to
    be mass produced commercial widget junk. image
