Example... on any given busy Sunday night, how many diffferent windows do you have open on your computer to view ending auctions/beginning auctions/auction you are bidding on/auctions you are selling things on........

I am a systems administrator....I have my watched auction window open, My current snipe window, paypal acct., email, 2 systems that I am currently working on and this one.

p266 with a 128MB video card. go figure.
shoutcast stream, so that means wimamp. old time radio. "texas rangers"
putty so i can ssh to my freebsd box for email... using pine

firefox (which is getting worse) with more than 8 tabs...
thankfully my IM client does not require a tab. win98SE... cause my ricoh
wants it. k thks. plus it came with acrsoft.. which is photoshop i think.. before bought out. v2.0

I have 2 IE windows open -- one on this page, and another at the edit page of my website.

I have 1 Nikon View window open. This transfers and batches my photos. It is the first step in my postprocessing.

I have 1 Nikon Capture window open, it is the second step in my post processing, where I crop, rotate, and adjust RAW settings.

I have 1 Adobe Photoshop window open, it is the last step in my post processing. I make the background dark and resize in this step.

I have Outlook open.

2- One all set to pull the trigger and one that I keep refreshing to watch the time/bids in comparison to my time sync program. I'm always prepared for a 1 second snipe.

I always have one for the coin and open forums and usually two or three others.

Inever go over about seven or they bunch up and require extra clicking to retrieve.

they make their money from cell phones.. they are #1 in that.

one window down below in your task bar... but many tabs that allows many web pages..
in one browser instance...

trust me. worth the download... easy install... and break the notion that IE is the best.

Firefox for me too. Usually 10 to 20 tabs in the one window. Firefox is the best thing since sliced lettuce.

On this machine, only four (ebay, Teletrade, Heritage and here) because four is all it can handle. On the machine 12 inches a way

, Firefox with perhaps a dozen windows open at any one time. [With Firefox, one click opens 10 windows with one of my ebay searches in each window.] Zimbra is the latest cool place (one window for zimbra.com, one window for our Zimbra server).

2.) IE for this message board
3&4 ) my SNES rom Emulator and a IE page to get more Friends page..
5.)Teletrade page
6.) PCGS price guide.
7&8 & sometimes 9) looking at new pages which sell gold coins ( and will be asking you about new faces in the next few days).
and 10) PMs fluttering out the door to board members ( i guess you can call it another window).
on top of all that i have Windows Media Player to listen to my country music (11).

yeah on an avg day thats what i got runnin. nothing better tahn some multi-tasking. ( hmm maybe i should do a 12th one for spelling lol. but then again you guys been stating that for years and gave up on me

At one time, I had 13 windows open while trying to snipe 3 things at the same time

1) My eBay
2) CU Forums
3-5) Item #1 Auction and 2 bid-ready windows
6-8) Item #2 Auction and 2 bid-ready windows
9-11) Item #3 Auction and 2 bid-ready windows
12) "Compare items" page to see the exact times left for the three items
13) People PC Online

Well, of course, I closed the three auction pages when the time came to snipe. I got outbid on all of them, but surprise: all my bids went in 3-4 seconds before the auctions ended. All done on 52.0 kbps
