Is it me, or is the Peace dollar just a fraction larger than the Morgan dollar?

I'm butting them together and the Peace seems a tad bit bigger than the Morgan. Am I nutz?image

    image The Redbook has them both at 38.1mm. Is that just a mistake?

    Do me a favor...If you've got a raw Morgan & Peace dollar, put'em together on their rims and see if the Peace is larger.image

    I did. Compared a 21-P Morgan and a 23-P Peace. They look the same size to me. 0.4mm is a tiny gap. Not sure I'd notice with my old eyes. The PCGS online coin guide has them both at 38.1mm.

    When I put them together holding them with my thumb and index finger there's a substantial difference. Setting them on a flat surface, on the rim, there's a substantial difference. Go figure!image

    .4 MM is 16 thousandaths give or take !

    There can be variation in size,,, I have a morgan that will not fit into an airtight (unless I jam it in) but according to Van Allen that is within normal variance... I have about 100 other morgans that all fit into airtights... would be interesting to see more specs on this...
