Is the "coin show" unique to the U.S.?

Does anyone know if there are coin shows in other countries? Have any of you ever been to one? Are they much different than U.S. coin shows?

Coins are established shows around the world.

A few years ago, a show in Shanghai PRC drew as many as 100, 000!

Well, its not. But overseas, however, they're either called coin fairs or money fairs (especially in the UK and Australia).

Considering there are auctions and coin shops in other countries I would think shows follow.
Buyer and seller of vintage coin boards!
  • They have coin shows in the Philippines that would rival any show held here in the states.

i agree with the philippines as there are many hugely fantastically rich people from come all over the world in the philippines and they collect coins with a passion

right before the japanese invasion of the early 1940's manila philippines had the biggest rich gn population of any major cities in the world

i am sure it is still mostly true today
  • I went to one in Australia years ago--great fun!
  • I have heard a few dealers that I know talk about a large coin show that takes place in Hong Kong in early September. I keep hearing that this show has great attendance every time.
