Help on this 1909 Taft/Diaz token - see pics

Does anyone know anything about this token? Found it with a double row box of darkside and hard times tokens I picked up.

I know that there are some solid token specialist out there... Any help is appreciated.

It's listed in the So-Called Dollars book by Hibler and Kappen (HK) as HK-387. They were struck with two reverses, the rarer Spanish and English, as here. Copper and silver specimens exist of this die pair.

Regarding what it commemorates, the medal itself tells the story!

It is a So-Called Dollar. H&K387. Oh, I see someone just beat me to it

. So I will add some trivia from the H&K book.

"Purpose: To cement international relations and to promote recriprocal trade between Mexico and United States."

The H&K book was written in 1963 and this piece was listed as very rare with a price listed as $70.00

They come in nicer condition. Still, it's a pretty popular piece. Figure in the $50-150 range if you list it as is on eBay.
