New Lens and a test shot Lincoln
It's only pocket change but I think it shows off the new lens nicely

I'm thinking you have the 100mm macro as well.
Wondering what you think of it and how much further the 150 puts the camera from the coin.

The 150mm blows away the 100mm by far. I am so far from the coin I have to use a step stool to look through the view finder.
Here's a Choclate slabbed example.

<< <i>cosmicdebris: Thanks for the post! I've got a Digital Rebel too and was planning on buying a 100mm Macro Lens but you've changed my mind. >>

<< <i>Anyone have any experience with the Nikkor 60mm macro lens? I'm thinking of buying one soon. >>
If you are looking for a lens for coin photography get the 150mm it will blow away the 60mm by a mile. Sigma makes a 150mm that will work with your Nikon. For the extra $100.00 you will be much happier.

Not so much for coin photography (but the occassional coin shot) but more for closeups of other stuff. I'm still learning all the SLR stuff so here is a dumb question. I saw one micro lens (a 105mm) that said it didn't include a macro lens and another (the 60) that did. But both said they were for closeup work. Should I look for a micro lens with a macro lens included or not?

In those umbrella thingies? Do you cover them with a diffuser? How far from the coin are the lights?
Thanks.
