  eBay's system is set up so your overall feedback number is from unique ebayers--that is, a score of 100 means 100 unique positives (101 positives and a neg, etc.). The percentage shown (99.9%, etc.) is based on the total feedbacks you've received. If you look at your feedback history, it breaks down total and unique feedbacks.

  So you can't set up a fake ID and pump your own feedback.

  This was changed 2 or 3 years ago. One reason was, one jerk could win 10 auctions, and leave 10 Negatives, throwing your rating way off. This will still appear on the chart, for 1 year, but at least not in the percentage number.

  Check this out! When I started on ebay over seven years ago you did not even have to buy or sell from someone to leave feedback. I did not buy coins at that time but auctions with images were the minority. It was great! You never knew what you would get and most time it was better than expected.....Take care- Mark
