    Seems to me it's easier to obliterate offending text in image-editing software with a solid white block than it is to add scribbles. Looks less like an obvious fraud, too.

    I didn't know the road to redemption ran through Scamsville...

    Maybe he's trying to raise money to pay the taxes on the orphanage where he and his brother were brought up by nuns, and he doesn't have a band to get back together.
