These second chance scammers are a real problem, RYK. Unfortunately, I still receive emails from bidders, asking if they are legit. That tells me that some are falling for them, and losing real money. My advice to buyers, unless one is absolutely certain of who you are dealing with, always pay with a credit card, through Paypal.

Nice coin. I was following that one.

If the item is high priced, I hide the bidder's identities just to prevent this scam.
I also explain why the bidder's identities are hidden in my auctions.

Aw, shucks. That means I don't get to buy that coin for my original bid? My bid was much less than the winning bid so I guess I should have known it was a scam.

Apparently $2000 is the MAGICAL number. I also have received over a dozen E-mails EXACTLY like that. They ONLY come when I bid over $2000 either for a coin or piece of RARE antique glass. ALWAYS a SPOOF. Report it to E-bay ASAP! They will close their ID and tell you they have taken action, but, offer no info. In this case, POTENTIAL buyer BEWARE! Ray
