66Tbird is right, the bag in the original auction does seem to be a fake. (There is a slight possiblity that there was more than one type of bag for this first date, but I doubt it.) But I was dead serious about the real DE bags going for $1000.

When they got so high there were privately assembled bags. This looks like one of those. I suspect that's why the bidding hasn't gone any higher.
