I am a coin nerd.

I just tiled my....errr....my wifes new Florida room and it was a fun project, as I love working with my hands almost as much asI enjoy coins. The room is 16' X 12' and the project turned out great....except for one thing....the walls are 4X4 posts and framed in with 2x4's, so after I set the door in place, I had a small gap at the threshold ....so I set in a row of Buffalo nickles to take up the gap....whattaya think? Better than a row of one inch tiles.

Family, kids, coins, sports (playing not watching), jet skiing, wakeboarding, Big Air....no one ever got hurt in the air....its the sudden stop that hurts. I hate Hurricane Sandy. I hate FEMA and i hate the blasted insurance companies.

<< <i>She pretty much just thinks I am a coin nerd. >>
You're only a complete coin nerd if you ordered them by grade and eye appeal.
Now it would be even better if 4" really meant 4"... Why should the 4" x 4" posts be any bigger than the 2" x 4" framing wood? My house is so old that the wood is all 1/4" extra rather than 1/2" smaller. They used to cut the wood larger so it would dry to size.
Uhmmm the thick wall theory doesnt hold water......but the gap still is there and so are the nickles...hope the mortar holds them in for a long time.
I think a nice Proof 67 1937 buffalo would look better in the middle.
I used all partial date and some acid dated coins....all mint marked so it adds that touch of class.....lol

...better at the door instead of thru your head!
<< <i>Dude,
your wife is going to KILL you. >>
Now you can say to all your guests "Please take your shoes off at the door...this floor cost me a fortune." Or, "This house has nickel and dimed me to death." Or, "Watch your step...I just had my floor buffed."
Ask me no questions, I'll tell you no lies.

I just told the wife what you did, her reply "Don't get any ideas"
